2012 Nordecke Cup

The second annual Nordecke Cup, a must for every Crew fan, took place at Crew Stadium this morning.  The competition includes all of the major supporters groups for the Columbus Crew spread out over multiple teams.

My team, the Crew Union Ninety-Sixers, were placed in a difficult group at Friday night’s draw event.  Included in our group were last year’s finalists, Murderers’ Row & Hudson Street Hooligans, and a La Turbina Amarilla team going by the name Metapán.  We lost both of our group games, knocking us out of the competition.  We still had one consolation game left, in which we beat another Crew Union team.

Murderers’ Row & Hudson Street Hooligans once again made it to the final before being beaten by their nemeses from last year, the Crew Union Wolves.  The Wolves repeated their success on penalties from 2011 to keep the Nordecke Cup at Fourth Street Bar and Grill for yet another year.

Here are a few pictures I snapped during the event:

There are hundreds of more photos on the Nordecke Facebook page and Massive Report’s Facebook page.
