Crew Reserves Demolish New York (6-1)

The Columbus Crew reserve team played in New York against the Red Bulls Monday morning at 11:00 am, winning 6-1.

Marcos Paullo scored the first goal of the game for New York in the 19th minute.  Crew goalie Andy Gruenebaum parried a shot, but the rebound went straight to Paullo.

A minute later, Crew rookie Justin Meram passed the ball to Cole Grossman inside the box, and Grossman finished past Red Bulls goalkeeper Alex Horwath.

In the 26th minute, Meram was on the receiving end of a long ball from Eric Gehrig.  Meram collected the ball and fired it into the top corner.

Crew rookie Bernardo Anor scored the next two goals for Columbus with two long range shots (45th and 59th minutes), making the game 4-1.

Crew Academy player Chris Davis finished the game off with two more goals (82nd and 85th minutes), making the final score 6-1.
